A-Fest is on it's way and another convention experiment is planned. The re-tapping my roots endeavor crashed and burned like Paris Hilton's singing carrier so I'm pulling out the big guns. I did some thinking and found that I really haven't fully touched upon my sexy side when it comes to the world of cosplay. Well, intentionally, that is. I've done some suggestive stuff, but never with actual intent. A-Fest will be different.
I'm in the process (meaning, I got all of the parts) of working on a Meggan Braddock costume. No, she isn't from an anime but I figure what the hey? According to the forum there is suppose to be a big group of DC heroes/villains showing up and I planned to do one as well but Marvel had a better selection of female characters (sorry, DC).
I'm really excited...no REALLY excited. She's freakin' un-tapped, like some mythical cosplay virgin! That was reason why the psylocke project fell through. I don't mind taking on a project that someone has done before but I have a limit. I have made the occasional exception, but in those cases the driving need out-weighed the con (benump-bump).
I recently realized why I was worried about being too old for cosplay...it's the damn Japanese' fault! ..well, sorta. Most anime, Japanese based games, manga center around young characters. To top that off, the older characters are really old...like no one wants to cosplay as, old. Which kinda leaves this gap that makes it difficult for most people that aren't in their early twenties or younger. There are other possibilities out side of anime but I don't think I'll ever be comfortable going to some like a comic book convention. The anime crowd has it's share of judgmental types but no where near the numbers like comic-cons.
A-Fest costume schedule:

Meggan Braddock - a married woman cosplaying as a married woman >.<
